Ripple Energy enables UK householders to purchase micro-sized shares of large-scale renewable energy projects. The electricity generated by the projects will be allocated to the co-owners' homes. Co-owners pay for the capital cost of their project upfront, so the cost of their electricity is just the operating cost of the project, which is significantly lower than the wholesale price. In this way householders can stabilise their electricity bills and be supplied by renewable energy they have generated, regardless of where they live.
