Scotland’s energy industry celebrates its world class supply chain
The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards last night (May 28) celebrated eight winners who have made outstanding contributions to Scotland’s thriving renewable energy industry.
Organised by trade body Scottish Renewables, the awards brought industry leaders from across Scotland’s renewable energy supply chain to Aberdeen to honour the innovation, commitment and leadership that drives Scotland's world-class supply chain.
This year’s winners were selected for embodying the vision, passion and innovation that is powering Scotland’s clean energy future.
Winners included:
- The Energy Transition Skills Hub, which took home the Green Energy Skills Award for supporting more than 1,000 individuals into employment in its first four years and delivering an outreach programme that inspires S1- S3 pupils into future green energy careers.
- Peel Ports Clydeport, which picked up the Sustainable Supplier Award due to its carbon emissions reporting supported by fleet decarbonisation, renewable energy investment and energy optimisation that have collectively reduced emissions by 37% since 2020.
- ECO Hire, which scooped the Outstanding SME Award for its solar powered welfare cabins and drying rooms which reduce fuel use, emissions and water consumption while also offering inclusive, compliant facilities that support women in construction.
The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards winners were selected by eight judges from a shortlist of 34 finalists.
Susie Lind, Chair of Scottish Renewables, said:
“The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards is about celebrating the businesses and organisations that are shaping our green energy future with progressive technologies and world-leading practices.
“From large contractors to mission-critical SMEs, there is a common thread that runs through these supply chain companies, and that is the ability to adapt and respond to challenges while implementing fresh initiatives that will inspire the workforce of tomorrow.
“Tonight’s awards have been a brilliant opportunity for our industry to recognise the passion, dedication and hard work of the people and companies who are playing a crucial role in how Scotland’s clean energy is produced and delivered.
“Congratulations to everyone shortlisted this year, and of course to the winners."
