    Wholesale Market Strategy Manager, NESO

    Saskia is Wholesale Market Strategy Manager at NESO, responsible for leading the team within NESO considering how electricity wholesale market design contributes to an efficient, secure, and sustainable electricity system. NESO is the system operator for Great Britain. Her team is one of those in NESO advising Government and Ofgem on future electricity market design, first on the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements programme, and now the Reformed National Pricing programme.

    She has worked in the GB electricity sector for over a decade, including previous roles at Ofgem working on the market wide half hourly settlement and the future system operator programmes and Flexitricity where she developed new demand side response services.

    Director of Markets, NESO

    Rebecca Beresford was appointed as NESO’s Director of Markets in September 2024. Prior to joining NESO Rebecca spent over 20 years working for EDF, where she most recently held the position of Director of Net Zero Strategy and Policy.

    Rebecca’s career has focused on implementing the right energy policies and frameworks to support a decarbonised energy system, including work on Electricity Market Reform and more recently on REMA.

    At NESO, Rebecca leads a team responsible for designing and delivering energy markets that facilitate security of supply at the lowest sustainable cost for consumers, while enabling the transition to net zero. Rebecca is passionate about ensuring a balanced and whole system approach to market design, which puts the needs of customers at the heart of the solution.

    Nina Brundage

    Regulatory Affairs Associate, Ocean Winds

    Nina is the Regulatory Affairs Associate at Ocean Winds, a leading developer and operator in the offshore wind sector with a significant footprint in the UK. In her role, she focuses on shaping energy markets and regulatory frameworks to enable the efficient deployment and long-term operation of offshore wind.

    Prior to joining Ocean Winds, Nina worked in the United States at the nexus of clean energy and environmental policy. Her experience includes roles in the U.S. Congress and with a national renewable energy trade association, where she advocated for policy solutions to accelerate the energy transition.

    Nina graduated with a master's degree in Energy, Society and Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh and holds a bachelor’s degree in political and environmental science from American University in Washington, D.C.

  • Johnny Gowdy

    Johnny Gowdy

    Director, Regen

    Johnny is a Regen director with over 30 years of experience in conventional and sustainable energy. Before joining Regen, he was a partner in the energy practice of the global consultancy firm Accenture.

    Johnny is responsible for developing Regen’s market insight and advisory services and focuses on energy systems, networks and energy markets with a focus on offshore energy, hydrogen and storage.

    Johnny has led Regen’s work to support energy network development and forecasting, including the development of future energy scenarios for distribution networks. He has also published a number of papers on the key role that networks can play in supporting the energy transition and delivering social value, including Energy Networks for the Future and Networks Unlocked.

    He has led Regen’s response to the GB Review of Energy Market Arrangements and has published several papers on market reform, locational signals, the capacity market, and the future design of revenue support for low-carbon investment. His latest paper was An Agenda for Progressive Market Reform.

    Georgina leads Zenobē’s engagement with policymakers, industry stakeholders, and public institutions. With a focus on strategic advocacy, she ensures that Zenobē’s innovative solutions in energy storage and fleet electrification align with and influence governmental and regulatory frameworks.

    Georgina is an experienced policy professional with over ten years in the UK Civil Service, focusing on energy flexibility and clean technologies. She specialises in energy storage and demand-side response, contributing to the energy transition. Prior to joining Zenobē, she served as Head of Capacity Market Policy for Low Carbon Technologies at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), where she led essential reforms to enhance the UK’s energy security. Previously, she was the Energy Storage Innovation Lead at DESNZ, launching the £70M Longer Duration Energy Storage Demonstration (LODES) programme.

    Director for Energy Markets & Analysis, Department for Energy Security and Net Zero

    Dan Osgood has been Director for Energy Markets & Analysis since summer 2021, leading work on electricity market reform (the REMA Programme) and on electricity security. He has extensive experience in climate and energy policy, including previously leading the Government’s work to reduce carbon emissions from buildings and industry, and as Senior Responsible Owner for a number of major Government projects. Prior to his current role, he was Strategy Director in the Vaccine Taskforce, supporting the UK development and supply of a Covid-19 vaccine.
