Scotland's Renewable Energy Roadshow

Updated Scotland's Renewable Energy Roadshow

Scottish Renewables' Year of COP campaign will showcase Scotland's role in the fight against climate change through a series of activies ahead of COP26 being held in Glasgow in November.

As part of this, Scotland’s Renewable Energy Roadshow will visit rural locations across the country to highlight the importance of hosting renewable energy infrastructure and the critical role played by these key locations in the fight to reduce our carbon emissions.

Through engaging the public and local stakeholders in conversations about climate change, Scotland’s Renewable Energy Roadshow will spotlight the impact of renewable energy in these areas and discuss how the climate emergency will shape our homes, energy and transport sector.

Delivered in conjunction with our Scottish Renewables’ Year of COP Partners, this interactive series of live events will bring the spirit of COP26 to the communities that will be at the forefront of delivering a greener future.

About the events:

With four locations playing host to the Roadshows, the innovative tour will provide an opportunity for the public to find out more about the technologies, innovations and issues that will shape what happens next.

The Roadshows will have two main elements. The first will be a street event designed to engage the local community and champion Scotland’s role in fighting climate change. High visual impact will be the order of the day along with a social media campaign and local press participation.

The second component will be an invite-only symposium for stakeholders, local dignitaries, media and members of Scottish Renewables to discuss the pressing issues surrounding the renewable energy sector and the local economy. This will be an opportunity to network, meet, consider and plan at a decisive moment for our sustainable future.

Combining public engagement and industry collaboration will allow Scotland’s Renewable Energy Roadshow to raise the issues set to dominate COP26 in the heart of the communities most involved in delivering meaningful change.
