SR 2025-26 Top Achievements
POWER IN NUMBERS
Our members are at the heart of our policy work. More than 3,000 individuals are signed up to each of our largest forums, while 19 Policy Update Webinars attracted almost 2,000 attendees. We convened 70 Task & Finish Group meetings and responded to 35 consultations, transforming members’ expertise into a powerful, evidence-led voice that ensures Scotland’s renewable energy industry is heard where it matters most.
CHARGING AHEAD
We stepped up the campaign for fairer transmission charging, with new research revealing Scottish generators have faced £2.9 billion in unforeseen TNUoS charge increases since 2015. Working with members, we took practical reforms directly to Ofgem and the UK Government, making the case for a system that supports investment and competitiveness. We are now at the heart of discussions to design transitional and legacy arrangements.
WINDS OF CHANGE
Sustained advocacy is delivering results for Scotland’s wind industry. More than 1GW of Scottish onshore wind capacity was secured in Allocation Round 7, alongside progress on longstanding barriers including Eskdalemuir. Offshore wind secured almost 1.5GW, while new Habitats Regulations provide a clearer route through environmental compensation and consenting. These breakthroughs show how persistent industry engagement can remove barriers, unlock projects and move Scotland’s renewable energy pipeline forward.
CONNECTIONS GET REAL
As reform of Britain’s congested grid connections queue moved into delivery, we made sure Scottish projects had a strong voice. Dedicated webinars and engagement sessions brought members and NESO together, helping us push for greater transparency and raise industry concerns directly with decision-makers. Our focus remains clear: protecting viable Scottish projects and securing a connections system that accelerates renewable energy investment.
BUSINESS MEANS BUSINESS
Ahead of the 2026 Holyrood election, we united 13 leading trade associations behind a shared manifesto for a more competitive and investable Scotland. Representing nearly £90 billion in GVA and 1.4 million jobs, the coalition put business priorities firmly on the political agenda. Our Scottish Energy Pledge further demonstrated the business consensus behind Scotland’s energy transition, while our new Industry Handbook educated newly elected MSPs.
AT THE TABLE
We make sure members’ priorities reach the people making the decisions. Through representation on key bodies including the UK Onshore Wind Council and North Sea Future Board, alongside direct engagement with Ofgem and NESO, we are influencing strategic energy planning and market reform. From Westminster to Holyrood and across industry, we are working to secure the best possible outcomes for Scotland within the future UK energy system.
SUPPLYING SUCCESS
Our latest Supply Chain Impact Statement showcased 36 innovative organisations supporting more than 5,000 jobs. By taking their stories directly to government, industry and decision-makers, we demonstrated the strength of Scotland’s supply chain and made the case for investment that creates opportunities, develops skills and keeps jobs and economic value in Scotland. Our dedicated Supply Chain resource in the team ensures these businesses have a stronger voice and greater access to opportunities across the industry.
POWERFUL CONNECTIONS
More than 7,000 delegates joined us across 17 events in 2025-26, creating a powerful platform for connection and collaboration. From flagship conferences and awards to Meet the Buyer and networking events, we connected members with politicians, developers, suppliers and decision-makers. These connections deliver real member value, creating opportunities to build relationships, showcase expertise, win business, exchange ideas and influence the conversations shaping Scotland’s energy future.
SPARKING CONVERSATION
Strong policy needs powerful communication. Our first-ever Communications Conference brought together 100 professionals to strengthen industry expertise in messaging, media and community engagement. We also helped launch Watt Communities Want, new research showing 63% believe clean power strengthens UK energy security. These insights give members stronger evidence to tell renewable energy’s story, build public understanding and communicate the benefits of the energy transition with confidence and impact.
MORE VALUE, BUILDING FOR THE FUTURE
We are investing to deliver more for members. Our Member Zone and Event Space is creating opportunities for free networking, training, hot-desking and collaboration, while new resource will deepen member engagement. A new Director of Finance & Commercial will strengthen membership services and events, while our reshaped policy team will respond to evolving priorities – building the capacity and resilience to remain a powerful voice for Scotland’s renewable energy industry.
