SR Response: Updating the Offshore Transmission Cost Assessment Guidance

On July 13, 2026, Ofgem launched its consultation seeking views on an updated draft of the Offshore Transmission Cost Assessment Guidance (CAG). The guidance sets out Ofgem's updated approach to assessing the economic and efficient costs of offshore transmission assets, before these are transferred to an Offshore Transmission Owner (OFTO).

Scottish Renewables welcomes the consultation and supports reforms to improve clarity, transparency and predictability in offshore transmission cost assessment. Out response highlights the importance of reducing regulatory burden and ensuring the framework can support future network development.
