Onward 2030 Work Package 2: Instrument Flight Procedures Guidance
This guidance focuses on onshore wind farms and impacts on civilian aerodromes. Planned wind farms can penetrate into the protection zones around current flight routes designed to keep flight procedures safe and can also limit the design of new flight procedures. As a result, a work package was established with the objective of clarifying the issues relevant to IFP design and approvals, and providing guidance on context, responsibilities and process, while maintaining safe operations and acknowledging the specific and individual airport requirements. This
guidance document is the outcome of this work. The document aims to provide a common level of understanding of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs) which has been developed in conjunction with advice from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and aviation stakeholders.
