NESO Response to Renewable energy trade associations priorities for ongoing connections reform

20/10/25 | Multiple forums

Earlier this month Scottish Renewables, alongside other renewable energy trade associations, wrote to NESO to outline a series of priorities for the Connections Reform process moving forwards, following NESO's confirmation of delays to the Gate 2 window.

NESO has now responded, setting out how it intends to approach the specific points raised, including:

  • The desired reinstatement of Customer Connection Managers.
  • The treatment of existing securities and Queue Management (QM) milestones.
  • Forward timetables for investment and supply chain.
  • Acceptance of connection offers.
  • The introduction of a new, faster appeals process.
  • The impact on Contracts for Difference (CfD) auctions and other markets.
  • TO and DNO Interaction.

We will continue engaging with NESO to share our members' views and ensure Connections Reform is implemented effectively.

We are also encouraging members to connect directly with NESO through its regular customer calls.
