SR Response: Centralised Strategic Network Plan (CSNP) draft methodology consultation

On June 30, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) published its draft methodology consultation for its Centralised Strategic Network Plan. 

This document outlines the methodology that NESO will follow to implement the CSNP. NESO intends to deliver its network planning for electricity, gas and hydrogen through multiple submissions across a three-year cycle.  

Scottish Renewables broadly supports the scope and structure of the plan and warmly welcomes the draft methodology. 

With help and support from our members, Scottish Renewables submitted its response to this on August 5. NESO will submit the methodology to Ofgem for approval by September 30, 2025, per its licence obligations and publish it on its website.
