Model Report: Maximising Socio-Economic Benefits

17/06/25 | Planning & Consents

On March 14, SR released the report framework for Maximising Net Socio-Economic Benefit. This report was created in response to recommendations from the Task and Finish group working on streamlining environmental impact assessment reports (EIARs) per the Scottish Onshore Wind Sector Deal that the socio-economic chapter be removed from EIARs.

In response, SR worked with members and BiGGAR Economics to create a model framework that developers can use to demonstrate how they are maximising net socio-economic benefit with renewable energy projects, as required by NPF4 Policy 11c.

This model report was drafted for OnPath with BiGGAR Economics for the Bodinglee Wind Farm application. OnPath has kindly offered to share this as an example of how the report framework can be used.

We hope more developers will share their reports as they create them using the Maximising Net Socio-Economic Benefit report framework as models for how this report can be used.
