Just Transmission Commission final report

The Just Transition Commission has today (March 23) released its final report which sets out key opportunities and challenges for Scotland and recommends practical steps to achieving a just transition.

Speaking on the first day of Scottish Renewables’ Annual Conference, which is being held virtually, Scottish Renewables Chief Executive Claire Mack said:

“Renewable energy is at the very centre of the inclusive, net-zero economy Scotland needs to tackle climate change.

“It’s imperative that the energy transition we are now going through – from high-carbon fossil fuels to low-carbon green energy – is made with people as one of its key considerations.

“Getting this just transition right means everyone, from all of Scotland’s communities and stakeholder groups, can share in the benefits the transition will bring: better public health, increased prosperity and, of course, reduced carbon emissions.”
