New events and co-working spaces breathe new life into historic Glasgow building

Based in the former offices of the Glasgow Evening Citizen newspaper, dating back to 1889, Scottish Renewables has called 24 St Vincent Place in Glasgow city centre home since May 2023.

As the industry body representing more than 350 organisations driving Scotland’s clean energy future, Scottish Renewables prides itself on being a place where people can collaborate, connect and learn.

Previously vacant space within the historic building has been transformed to expand the services available to Scottish Renewables’ member organisations and provide additional flexibility to the team. The new Member Zone & Events Space offers:

• A multi-purposed events space for up to 100 attendees.
• Hot desks for member organisations and stakeholders.
• Private meeting rooms and breakout spaces.

Since opening, a range of events and activities have been supported, including networking sessions organised by the Department for Business & Trade, EnergyPro, Tarmac and Leidos. Following the devastating Union Corner fire, we were also pleased to provide TNEI with a last-minute venue for their away day.

The new boardroom facilities have also enabled the Scottish Renewables team to expand its external engagement activities, providing a larger space for roundtable discussions with stakeholders, including the Scottish and UK governments.

“The meeting room was light and very spacious, easily accommodating our party of 20 guests as well as facilitating a remote guest that was unable to attend in person. The location of this facility near to Queen Street train station is another bonus.” – The Scottish Government

The space is overseen by Emma Gray, Membership Manager, who is keen to encourage even more members to make use of the facilities. Whether you need a desk between meetings, a professional meeting room or a venue for a larger event, the team would be delighted to help.
