The Scottish Government's Bute House Agreement with the Scottish Green Party has ended, First Minister Humza Yousaf has confirmed.

Responding, Claire Mack, Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, said:

"With our 2030 climate target now out of reach and the future of some policies unclear following today’s announcement from the Scottish Government, now is the time to focus on the credible route to net-zero by 2045 which is firmly within our grasp.

"As the global race to seize the opportunities of clean energy picks up pace and barriers to deployment at home risk stifling our full potential, we must signal confidence that Scotland is prepared to move ambition into action. To do so, we need a comprehensive strategy which incentives investors and enables delivery.

“At this crucial time, we look forward to steering climate policy towards a strong, stable trajectory which fosters collaboration across all political parties and industry."
