Scottish Renewables is delighted to announce the categories for The Scottish Green Energy Supply Chain Awards 2025.

The categories and guidelines can be found below. Nominations should include answers to all three questions, following word limitations displayed, and can be supported by 1 x one-sided A4 document. Any entries exceeding this limit will not be processed.

 DIVERSITY AND CULTURE AWARD

The talented individuals working in this industry are key to delivering our future energy goals, so it is important to recognise programmes which strive to create an inclusive, diverse and motivated workforce as well as championing a positive and progressive culture. This award recognises an organisation, team or project which works to place people at its centre.

Guidelines:

  • Provide a short introduction to the organisation / project
  • Detail how the organisation / project has created an inclusive, diverse workforce and outline any policies in place to support a positive and progressive culture
  • Outline the impact of the inclusive/ diverse workforce, providing statistics and data where possible

GREEN ENERGY SKILLS AWARD

Ensuring we meet the skills needs of the future is crucial to achieving our net-zero targets. This award celebrates groups or organisations going above and beyond to prepare the energy workforce of the future. This includes initiatives supporting early careers, training and qualifications, industry standards and those either making the move from a background in other sectors such as traditional fossil fuel energy generation or adding to their skillset to work across both sectors.

Guidelines:

  • Provide a short introduction to the organisation / project / initiative
  • Outline the way in which the nominee is preparing the energy workforce of the future
  • Please highlight the impact of the initiative, providing statistics and data where possible

GREEN BUSINESS GROWTH AWARD

Supply chain organisations across Scotland will play a key role in ensuring the country deploys a varied mix of energy projects. From offshore wind to green hydrogen and solar, there is much work to be done and as Scotland’s renewable energy capacity grows, so too does the knowledge and experience of the companies delivering these technologies. If your organisation has increased its aspirations, capacity and size through ambitious local and international renewables growth plans in the past two years, it may well be the winner of the Green Business Growth Award.

SUSTAINABLE SUPPLIER AWARD

With businesses from tier ones and Big Oil to high street brands pushing their green credentials to customers, it’s no surprise that a requirement to cut carbon has been passed down to the supply chain. This award is designed for those businesses which are seeing this shift as an opportunity and making sure they’re at the front of the pack helping industry clean up. Judges are looking for innovative solutions and ideas which are successfully reducing carbon emissions, focusing on a circular economy and supporting our green energy future.

  • Detail the policies / procedures put in place by the nominee to reduce carbon emissions
  • Please highlight the impact of the policies / procedures, providing statistics and data where possible

SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Maximising the economic benefits of our green energy projects and supporting the renewable energy supply chain is firmly in the spotlight. This award recognises developers who are committed to fostering local supply chain growth at the heart of their renewable energy projects. Leading the charge to deliver green electrons, these organisations are going above and beyond to open the business door for companies with solutions that never cease to impress.

  • Please detail how you are supporting the local (Scottish) supply chain in your developments
  • Please highlight the impact of this support, providing statistics and data where possible

BEST PRACTICE AWARD

In our industry suppliers work tirelessly to ensure they are meeting the standards required to deliver high quality, keep their people safe and get the buy-in of the people who matter to their projects. This award celebrates a company or project which has gone above and beyond to implement an initiative to achieve exemplary health, safety, environmental and quality improvements, or which has worked with stakeholders, including communities, to ensure everyone is aligned as a project develops. Judges are looking for nominations from companies and projects which set the gold standard in business best practice.

  • Detail the initiative(s) implemented which showcases the nominee as setting the gold standard in business best practice
  • Please highlight the impact of the initiative(s), providing statistics and data where possible

OUTSTANDING SME AWARD

SME organisations are the backbone of the supply chain. Dozens of companies are turning their attention to harnessing the opportunities emerging from the move to a clean energy system. This award recognises the individual pioneering organisations who are pushing innovation boundaries, investing in their people, collaborating with peers and providing unique added value to the green energy sector. This award embodies entrepreneurial spirit and is open to any businesses operating in any green technology.

TECHNOLOGY & BUSINESS INNOVATION AWARD

Reducing carbon emissions is the ultimate goal of the renewable energy industry and delivering these projects will require innovation, determination and a commercial mindset. Celebrating the organisations creating and developing unique solutions or processes to solve client problems, this award is open to companies who have enhanced competitiveness alongside customer value through technology, efficiency initiatives and novel solutions.
