The UN’s Race to Zero campaign: a COP26 webinar with Nigel Topping

21 July 2020 | Online

The United Nations’ Race to Zero is a global campaign to mobilise leadership and support for a healthy, resilient, zero-carbon coronavirus recovery which creates well-paying jobs, unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth and prevents future threats.

As part of our activity ahead of COP26 in Glasgow Scottish Renewables is delighted to present a one-off webinar with the UK's High-Level Climate Action Champion, Nigel Topping.

Nigel, who launched the Race to Zero campaign alongside the UK COP26 President and BEIS Secretary Alok Sharma at the start of June, will update attendees on how the campaign was formed, what it aims to achieve and how he believes global business leaders can be at the forefront of delivering net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest.

Nigel will talk about the opportunities of bringing together a vast coalition of net zero partners under Race to Zero, now representing 449 cities, 21 regions, 505 universities, 995 businesses and 38 of the world’s biggest investors for Race to Zero. At this free event you’ll learn about his ambitions for the campaign – and how you can get involved.
