Consultation Response
Scottish Renewables response to the proposed Offshore Transmission clause in the draft Energy Bill 2012
20 July 2012
On Friday 20 July 2012, Scottish Renewables submitted feedback to the Department of Energy and Climate Change regarding their proposed clause to the draft Energy Bill 2012. The clause is aimed at addressing the problem of prohibited electricity conveyance prior to asset transfer under the generator build option.
The response focuses attention on concerns that the rigidity of a specific 12 month asset transfer window could be impractical and inappropriate, and we have asked for that element of the clause to be removed from primary legislation and set out within the regulatory framework instead.
