Community Initiative

Recognises a renewable energy project or initiative that has been led by a community. The project should have followed good practice in development and demonstrate broad involvement and support within the community. It may also recognise a community-led initiative supporting a commercial project.

Best Innovation

In association with Scottish Enterprise

This award highlights the implementation of new and creative thinking in the development of renewable energy, in areas such as technology, processes, practices or finance.

Business Growth

This award is for outstanding business growth or the development of exciting and ambitious plans for the future by either a new or existing renewable energy business

Contribution to Sustainable Development

Sponsored by The Co-operative Bank

Recognises a renewable energy organisation or initiative that has made a clear contribution to sustainable development (i.e. improving the natural environment; conservation/sustainable use of natural resources; enhancing social equity, cohesion & wellbeing; building a strong, stable and sustainable economy) - going above and beyond the development or generation of renewable energy. Alternatively, this award may recognise a non-renewable energy business or initiative that has incorporated renewable energy into its business operations in order to improve its contribution towards sustainable development (e.g. installing renewable energy generation on-site).

Recognises a renewable energy project [existing or completed within the last 3 years] that has demonstrated exceptional practice in development and/or operation. This could incorporate areas such as health & safety, community and stakeholder engagement, project design, environmental impact assessment and mitigation/management, procurement and contracting, financing, construction, operation and maintenance, generation performance/asset optimisation, decommissioning.

This award is to highlight the company that has contributed most to the growth of Scotland’s constantly developing renewable energy supply chain, with nominations welcome from suppliers, developers and supporting businesses and agencies.

Public Sector Initiative

This awards recognises the public sector department or institution that has done most to support government and industry’s shared ambitions for the growth of the sector, whether local or central government, agency, or academic institution.
