Scottish Renewables welcomes new directors to its Board

Scottish Renewables, the industry body for renewable energy in Scotland, has announced two additional co-option appointments to its Board of Directors. They join the recently elected Directors (Adam Morrison (Ocean Winds), Clare Lavelle (Arup) and Paul Lennon (ESB).

The new Directors, will help guide the organisation as it works to grow Scotland’s renewable energy sector and sustain its position at the forefront of the global clean energy industry.

Neil Douglas, a Director with BVG Associates, has been co-opted to the Board for 18 months. With 30 years of experience in the renewables sector, Neil works on the globalisation of wind energy and provides strategic advice to governments, developers, enablers, and supply chain businesses. Neil helped deliver the Scottish Onshore Wind Sector Deal in 2023.

Lindsey Southworth, Head of Communications for the UK and Ireland at EDF Renewables , joins the Board for another year as a co-opted member.A former journalist and media trainer who has worked around the globe with more than 20 years of communications experience, Lindsey has worked in the energy sector for over a decade.

Meanwhile, Adam Morrison, UK Country Manager at Ocean Winds, having been re-elected, has been appointed by the Scottish Renewables Board to serve as Chair for another three-year term. Adam initially served as a co-opted member of  the Board in 2018 before being elected in 2020 and was appointed Chair in 2021. With two decades of experience across the renewable energy industry, Adam initially worked in the wave and tidal sector before moving into onshore wind and then offshore wind.

Iain Sinclair, Executive Director at Global Energy Group, who has 20 years of experience in renewable energy and will support the organisation’s supply chain work over the coming year, has been appointed by the Board to serve as vice-Chair.

Scottish Renewables is the voice of Scotland’s renewable energy industry seeking to grow and sustain its position at the forefront of the global clean energy sector.
