Delegates can enjoy networking and light refreshments. In this period, there will be the option to explore Marykirk and view the new commemorative plaque which Scottish Renewables has placed on James Blyth's former home, as well as to read the interpretation panel outside the village hall which has been erected to celebrate his achievements.

Commemorative Speeches

Delegates will hear from Scottish Renewables about the motivation behind the commemorative project, from figures in the local community and from a wind technology specialist who will articulate James Blyth's contribution to the modern turbine.

Rowanbank Environmental Arts will also present a mural which is being created by children from Marykirk Primary School earlier on in the day.

Toast to Blyth

Delegates will raise a glass in honour of the father of the wind turbine, James Blyth, before enjoying final commemorative conversations.
