Background

With our vast forestry resource, growing interest in agricultural and waste biomass, and strong political support, bioenergy has the potential to become a key part of Scotland’s renewable future. Following announcements from Scottish Ministers to provide millions of pounds to kick-start the industry, and proposals to create a Biomass Action Plan and Renewable Heat Strategy for Scotland, this conference comes at a crucial time for this promising sector.

Seminar Content

The Bioenergy Seminar is aimed at those involved in the management of Scotland’s land resource. It will seek to raise awareness and confidence among land managers who are keen on diversifying their crops into energy crops be it for electricity, heat, both of theses or biofuels. The conference recognises the pivotal role that land managers have in the supply chain and provides useful background on policy, the view of key stakeholders from the NFU to SNH and the experience of those who are doing it now.

Who Should Attend

The emphasis and focus is on the commercial sector whether it be farming, developers, producers of crops, manufacturer of equipment of the bio energy sector, land managers who are seeking to diversify or augment existing income generation avenues, suppliers to the sector.  The Seminar is also aimed at those seeking and developing policy for Bio Energy.
